Group Yoga Classes
Yoga is more than the shapes that we make on our yoga mat, more than the slow-paced breathing we use to balance ourselves in the moment, it's how we connect to ourselves.
I work hard to make my yoga classes feel inclusive, my teaching is trauma-informed and for every body. I have lots of equipment at both locations to help make the physical practices accessible. Each class is made up of a physical practice, breath awareness, meditation and relaxation. I theme my classes around the seasons and the moon cycles to help us feel grounded and centred.
Looking for yoga to help with something specific? You can chat to me to find out which class would work better for you, the possibility of private sessions or take a look at my online courses which are tailored to specific issues, like yoga for pelvic health.
GROUP YOGA CLASSES IN-PERSON AND ONLINE
The style of yoga I teach is alignment-based yoga, an embodied and practical approach to yoga, breathwork and meditation, accessible for all ages and abilities. You don't need to be flexible to start!
Each week I teach a different sequence of poses (asana) with the intention that the students experience a full range of physical yoga: standing poses, seated and floor poses, twists and abdominal, forward bends and backbends. We begin the class with a breathing exercise (pranayama) and breath awareness is continued throughout the class. The class always ends with a meditation practice and then a lying down relaxation known as Savasana.
Discussion and feedback are actively encouraged in my classes. Please feel free to ask questions.
Yoga is about self-discovery.
We are all unique. Our bodies and minds are different and there is no one right way.
Everyone is working with their own experience.
We may challenge ourselves and at the same time care for ourselves
Yoga can be fun!
Yoga encourages us to experience ourselves in a non-judgemental way.
Yoga is community.
Come along and see how it feels to connect to your body, create space, relieve tension, increase fitness, strength and flexibility and improve posture.
